Nintendo Release an Awesome Beat Em Up With Wii's Tournament of Legends!
The range of Nintendo Wii exclusive Beat Em Up titles continues to increase this year as following hot on the heels of Tatsunoko vs Capcom we've a completely new game; Wii's Tournament of Legends. From producers High Voltage, this game is the first in a planned series of weapons-based combat games.
Wii's Tournament of Legends is based around Greek and Roman mythology, that includes fighters based mostly on fables from that period. Each character is armed with a unique weapon, yet as the single player mode progresses this weapon can be enhanced and levelled up with different skills, which helps to make battle quite diverse.
The gaming is as standard for a Beat Em Up, however a few attention-grabbing additions have been included. The camera tracks to favour the player dealing essentially the most harm, so when you're delivering a bit of a thrashing to your enemy the camera will close in to your moves. Moreover, every stage in Wii's Tournament of Legends includes a 'Guardian', an NPC that will charge in at random intervals to assault you and your enemy. These attacks should be avoided or countered, and add an additional dynamic to the game.
The Wii remote and Nunchuk are each employed in Wii's Tournament of Legends, and every controller corresponds to both your right or left arm as you assault and block. However, control pad support is featured for people who fancy the old-fashioned way.
This game is shaping up to be another breathtaking Wii Beat Em Up. The battle is looking solid enough and the little additions help to boost a tried and tested formula. The subject matter is fresh and makes a decent change to the standard set of characters we might usually see. Wii's Tournament of Legends is launched this summer season, and could well warrant trying out!
