Hannah Montana Games: Spotlight World Tour and Music Jam
SPOTLIGHT WORLD TOUR
This is one of the more popular Hannah Montana games on video of which the story line is based on the hit Disney Channel TV show Hannah Montana. This TV show stars Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana with her real-life father Billy Ray Cyrus (of the “Achy Breaky Heart” fame) who incidentally plays her father in the story.
Spotlight World Tour is a video game that was released November of 2007. Using Wii Remote and Nunchuk, the players manipulate Hannah’s dances, moves, singings as she tours Japan (Tokyo,) France (Paris,) and U.K. (London.) Featuring 8 songs from the 2006 season and 8 from the 2007 season, Spotlight World Tour video game is fast becoming one of the most popular Hannah Montana games among the tweens.
HOW IT IS PLAYED
Spotlight World Tour is a rhytm game. Most of your efforts would be geared towards controlling the movements and choreography of Hannah on stage, as she sings for her fans in front of her. It would be interesting to see how you make Hannah move in a sense that you become her during the entire concert. This game’s capacity to entertain is beyond doubt. You would need a Wii Remote and the Nunchuk to be Hannah Montana.
Before the concert begins, you would need to coordinate the stage arrangement, lighting fireworks, etc. You must also become the costume designer as you decide on Hannah’s wardrobe. You would need to be fast and properly timed to respond to the icons that scroll horizontally on the lower part of the screen. These icons, when acted upon, would make you control Hannah’s performance in form of hand movements, clapping of hands, waving to the crowd, etc. The better you are at controlling (read: responding to the scrolling icons in proper timing) would earn you stars which you could later use to shop for new outfits and blings after the show.
The way you direct Hannah, or take on the personality of Hannah could lead you to be dancing with her as you control the moves with the Wii Remote.
MUSIC JAM
Another one of the more popular Hannah Montana games, Music Jam involves a lot of reading as this is necessary for you to grasp and unravel mysteries you face while playing the role of Miley together with her friends. You also get lots of help from Miley’s ever loyal friend Lilly. If you need her help (suggestions and advises—just like any true friend!) you just tap the “question mark” key.
The story here is about you (as Miley) and your friends trying to find the identity of the person who is threatening to reveal Hannah Montana’s true identity, which is Miley.
HOW IT IS PLAYED
There is less action here. This Hannah Montana game is more on interacting with characters in the video game, how you deal with them determines your progress. For example, Jackson, or Ashley and Amber may frequently block your way and you need to talk to them before you can proceed. There is also a part where you dress Hannah the way you want her to look.
Being one of the popular Hannah Montana games, Music Jam captures the texture and ambience you get when watching the TV series. However, compared to Spotlight World Tour, Music Jam is much suited to very younger crowds.
