So to add to the free lessons we are now also looking at the best books on poker that we can find.

The poker books reviewed have been aggressively filtered and only top rated poker books have made the cut.

The framework is to give the basic information on the poker book, a outline of the content material with a brief summary of reviews we have uncovered on both the pros and cons of the books.

Title - Sit 'n Go Strategy
* Author(s) - Colin Moshman
* This version released - July 2007
* Pages - 281

Brief summary -
We found a lot of good reviews for this book, plus, as there is a relative dearth of good poker education on sNg's this has to be a must read poker book for all Sit and Go poker players.

Good review comments -
* A solid and detailed manual on playing effective low to medium buy-in, 1 table games. Sit and Go game strategy split into easy to follow low, medium and high blind play sections.
* Shows you a very tight aggressive style of play, though he recognizes, that alternative playing models can be effective, if the players are skilled at post flop play
* A thorough analysis of table conditions, specific player styles, stack and blind sizes, payouts, chip values, and ways in which they influence ideal approach is presented.
* Might be as valuable for the SNG player as Harringtons No Limit Series is to MTT players.
* Reading it I comprehended the concept of equity (even the expression in general) a lot better than before.
* I finished it in two days and promptly put $250 into my PokerStars account.
* I like that this book is geared toward online SNG play. There's countless players just doing SnGs just for laughs, and Moshman enters into detail on exploiting such weak players.

Disadvantages -
* Certainly not for completely new players

Title - How to Win at Online Texas Hold 'Em: Insider Tips, Strategies, and Advice to Help You Master the Game of Online Poker
* Author(s) - Jack Parker
* This edition released - February 2010
* Pages - 78

Brief summary -
Just the thing for newcomers. Each piece of the book is rich with all the newest poker information about how to master the online poker tables. Inside, you'll discover for example:

- Exactly how to determine pot odds and outs.
- When you should blind steal.
- When and ways to effectively use the squeezing approach.
- The best way to adjust your pace of play when playing with seasoned players.
- How to properly make use of check boxes/auto plays.
- Ways to monitor your opponents fold & flop percentages.
- Ways to use the chat box to your advantage.

Positives -
* I found the information succinct and practical
* in particular benefited from the section on bluffing and the one on playing in internet sit-and-go's.
* I took an absolute beating on an online poker site about 2 weeks ago and came to the conclusion I had better understand a few important things before I went back. So - did it help? I won over $400 yesterday online.
* for anyone just like me who hasn't read lots and is wanting to start improving their game by studying, I believe it is a genuinely very helpful little book, and in my opinion feel like it's definitely paid itself off based on the sum of money I've earned thus far during my first forays into internet play.

Disadvantages -
Mainly for newcomers or people changing from live to internet for the very first time. Beyond this or for those really in to the arithmetic side you'll find it too restricted.

So ends our best books on poker review, keep your eyes peeled for more soon, no, they are not free but at the same time do not cost mush and will pay for themselves quick if you are willing to apply the lessons therein.
