The First Hannah Montana Songs
Miley Stewart, the student, brother to Jackson, daughter to Robby, and Hannah Montana to the world—they don’t know she and Miley are one and the same. This is basically the storyline that has captured the interest of millions of tweens worldwide. Hannah Montana songs become a huge success as the show’s reference point for each episode.
Besides being a hit show, this Disney Channel’s phenomenal TV series have also gained considerable success in the music scene. Interestingly enough, the two important people in the cast, father and daughter Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus are professional singers.
Here are the first episodes (2006) and the first of the Hannah Montana songs that made Miley Cyrus a hit to the tweens both in the US and around the world.
- Lilly, Do You Want to Know a Secret? - “This Is The Life.” Featuring the first of the Hanna Montana songs. Lilly finds out, to her utter surprise, about the true identity of Hannah Montana.
- Miley Get Your Gum – “Just Like You.” Hannah is not happy about her friend, Oliver, being in love with her Hannah Montana persona.
- She's a Super Sneak – “Pumpin’ Up The Party” and “I Miss You.” Two of the hit Hannah Montana Songs that tweens from around the world start to love. Miley and Jackson catch their Dad dating a woman inside a movie house.
- I Can't Make You Love Hannah If You Don't – “The Other Side Of Me.” Miley’s crush (who dislikes Hannah) goes out with her to a Hannah Montana concert.
- It's My Party And I'll Lie If I Want To – “Just Like You.” Miley lied to attend a party without Lilly. She ends up missing her and went home early.
- Grandmas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Favorites – “The Other Side Of Me.” This song is fast becoming one of the hottest Hannah Montana songs. Miley was jealous of “Mamaw’s” perceived preference for Jackson over her.
- Mascot Love – “Pumpin’ Up The Party.” Miley becomes the cheerleading squad’s mascot while Lilly became the cheerleader.
- Ooo, Ooo, Itchy Woman –“The Other Side of Me.” Miley plays a prank and ends up the victim herself.
- O Say, Can You Remember the Words? – “This Is The Life,” “Who Said,” and “Star Spangled Banner.” Miley forgets the lyrics of “Star Spangled Banner” and replaces them with lines from Shakespeare.
- On the Road Again – “I Want My Mullet Back” Billy Ray Cyrus (Robby) sings this song. Hannah found out her Dad was a musician.
- Torn Between Two Hannahs - "Stand” (by Billy Ray Cyrus), “The Other Side of Me,” “The Best of Both Worlds,” and “I Got Nerve.” This episode features three of the most popular Hannah Montana songs.
- Money For Nothing, Guilt for Free – “Who Said” Miley and Lilly lost over Ashley and Amber over an annual charity fund raising contest.
Encouraged by the success of the Hannah Montana songs in terms of record sales, another Hannah Montana soundtrack was being prepared. This time, it’s the double CD package that contains Miley Cyrus’ other singles that would eventually become certified hits too.
